With a melange of colours and a plethora of Durga idols, Red road was all decked up for the biggest carnival of the city today as organisers of 65 Durga Pujas today came up with their Durga idols. The gathering included people from different states, foreign delegates, ministers and celebrities. Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya played Dhaki and the colourful pre-immersion rally, a brain child of chief minister Mamata Banerjee that started last year became a great spectacle People were seen taking selfies and taking photos of the event as this was a great opportunity for everyone to witness big pujas at the same venue .The weather being hot and humid it was difficult to accommodate such a huge crowd .However free water pouches was available for people to quench their thirst.
Police did a commendable job and managed the crowd quite well. People enjoyed the dance shows and other cultural programmes staged by various clubs and were seen cheering them. Chief minister Mamata Banerjee, who had been present there was encouraging the participants.
