The educational and infotainment portal Kids World Fun has announced the ninth International Short Story Contest for school children around the world. The upcoming contest has been announced on the website, and the last date for receiving stories is the 10th February 2019. The results will be announced on 4th March 2019.



The International Short Story Contest organized by Kids World Fun is a prestigious bi-annual event that attracts short story entries from all over the world. Previous contests were very successful, with entries from around the globe. Themes include environmental awareness, war, and displacement, coming of age troubles, and friendship.



Schoolchildren aged 7- 16 are invited to participate in the contest. Entry is free. Participation is in three categories: sub junior (7-9 years), junior (10-12 years), and senior (13-16 years).



Attractive cash prizes, certificates, and publication opportunities on the website await the winners. All highly commended, and outstanding stories will also be published on the website, and honoured with certificates. The first prize winner get $75 as cash prize, the second prize winner, $50, and the third prize winner, $25. Cash prizes are given in all three categories.



Stories are to be written in English, and typed out on Microsoft Word or Notepad. Please do not send stories in pdf or image formats. Stories should not be accompanied by illustrations of any kind. Fancy fonts are overuse of italics/bold/underlining is discouraged. Stories that have adult content or vulgar language will not be considered for the contest. The stories are to be accompanied by identity proof, such as the relevant page of passport, health card, or school identity card.



Kids World Fun follows a strict policy of originality. Stories sent for the contest should not be copied fully or in part from any source. All entries will be subjected to a complete plagiarism check. Any story that has been found to be not original will be automatically disqualified from entering in the contest. Moreover, all stories should be accompanied by the details of the author, such as full name, age, address, and email address (of parent or teacher).
