Ahead of the Kumbh purva vaishanav baithak, Vrindavan, Mathura 2021, PepsiCo India today provided over 45,000 masks along with sanitizers as part of hygiene kits to the police personnel in Vrindavan, Mathura Uttar Pradesh. Starting February 14, the Kumbh purva vaishanav baithak will see massive crowds thronging the city of Vrindavan, making it imperative for the frontline warriors to safeguard themselves by wearing masks while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene during all times. The hygiene kits provided to the frontline warriors, will consists of reusable masks, sanitizers, and an information guide on best hygiene practices.



The initiative at the holy town of Vrindavan, was announced in the presence of Mr. A Satish Ganesh, IPS, ADG Police – Agra Range, Mr. Navneet Singh, IAS, DM-Mathura, Dr. Gaurav Grover IPS, SSP Mathura, Mr. Nagendra Pratap IAS, VC MVDA, Mr. Ravindra Kumar Mandar, IAS, Municipal Commissioner Mathura Vrindavan, Mr. Rohit Mishra, S P Security, Mathura, Mr. Pramod Sharma, Chief Fire Officer, Mathura and Rahul Sharma, Associate Director, Public Policy and Government Affairs, PepsiCo India.



Commenting on the initiative, Dr. Gaurav Grover IPS, SSP Mathura, said “In current times, wearing masks and maintaining best hygiene practices are foremost measures to safeguard people from the pandemic. The police is out there in full force, working relentlessly and braving the pandemic to ensure the safety of the public at large. In these challenging times, support from corporates like PepsiCo India in providing hygiene kits to all the Covid Warriors is immensely appreciable.”



According to Rahul Sharma, Associate Director, Public Policy and Government Affairs PepsiCo India, said, “As part of our continued efforts to fight the pandemic, we are humbled to get an opportunity to support our frontline heroes. For everything that a frontline warrior in Vrindavan is doing to manage the Kumbh purva vaishanav baithak which also includes ensuring the safety of the public at large, we are delighted to lend our support by way of providing hygiene kits. This is just a small gesture of gratitude from PepsiCo India during these testing times.”



Speaking about the initiative, VikramJit Singh Walia, Regional Head (North), Smile Foundation, said, “Kumbh purva vaishanav baithak will see thousands of pilgrims in the city and hence, it is more important than ever that we do our bit to safeguard the frontline warriors who are out there in the field. We are happy to partner with PepsiCo India in their journey to stand together to fight against the pandemic. Through this initiative, we will be working towards providing hygiene kits to them.”



Along with reusable masks, information education and communication (IEC) will be handed over to people that talks about the best hygiene practices to be followed to prevent the spread of the virus; including handwashing procedures, wearing masks properly, and practicing preventive measures like social distancing.
