Anushka Arora, an award-winning Indo-British radio jockey, anchor, and actor will broadcast live for 36 hours in a dedicated bid to raise financial support and awareness for Cardiac Risk in Young (CRY) across the British Asian community on Sunrise Radio. The on-air marathon will begin at 9:00 AM on 26th March 2021 and will last until 9:00 PM on 27th March 2021. The radio show will incorporate will broadcast music, ‘acclamation’, live interviews with cardiac specialists, young survivors and a series of reminders in support of the charitable organization, CRY.



It also aims at raising funds for its ongoing engagement in preventing sudden deaths by heart failure in the young. Some of the renowned Bollywood Actors and Singers are part of the initiative as well. To name a few Singer Sukhbir, Actor Sonu Sood, Singer Asees Kaur, Asim Riaz Big Boss fame, Mahalakshmi Iyer and Singer Anamika. RJ Anushka has previously interviewed some of the biggest superstars like the Bachchan’s, Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Varun Dhawan, John Abraham, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Katrina Kaif, Sonam Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, and India’s top fashion designers like Anita Dongre, Anamika Khanna, Sabyasachi and Manish Malhotra. She has been with Sunrise Radio since November 2014 hosting showbiz news, movie reviews, Bollywood interviews, updates on all Indian reality TV shows and some new musical talents.



RJ Anushka shares her excitement as, “I am glad to be a part of this noble cause. This unique media collaboration will spread awareness as much as it will raise funds for the cause. We are long past the time when broadcasting was only limited to selling commercials and programming airtime. It has become a means to reach out to the masses and utilize it for the better of mankind. My heart goes out to those who meet their tragic ends from an undiagnosed heart defect.”



Recently awarded as the ‘Best Radio Presenter of the Year’, Anushka will be accompanied by guests such as the international singer-song writer Arjun on the digital audio broadcasting.



Arjun is one of the many esteemed ambassadors of the CRY foundation who began to support it post the demise of his wife from a previously undiagnosed heart condition. He is also responsible for raising almost £40,000 for CRY in 2020 in a large-scale concert at the hammersmith Apollo (starring Guru Randhawa, Mickey Singh, Jaz Dhami, Vidy Vox, and many others).
