GUWAHATI: Troops of Border Security Force under Guwahati Frontier deployed in Cooch Behar apprehended two Indian miscreants and one Bangladeshi migrant in three separate incidents. One hundred bottles of phensidyl and 13.5 Kg Ganja were also recovered from one of them on Monday near the International Boundary, when these contrabands were being tried to be smuggled to Bangladesh, the BSF informed here on Tuesday.

Troops of the Border Outpost (BOP) Gitaldah in Cooch Behar district observing suspicious movement of miscreants near the international border, intercepted one of the suspects with three headloads. During the subsequent search, 100 bottles of banned Phensidyl and 13.5 Kg ganja were recovered and seized by the troops. The apprehended contraband smuggler was identified as Sabidul Haque (20 years), a resident of Bhoram Payasti (Boraibari) village in Cooch Behar (WB). He was handed over to local police for further legal action.

In a separate operation, troops of BOP Choudharyhat, in Cooch Behar district apprehended one suspected Indian contraband courier namely Noor Nobi Sikdar, (28 years), a resident Jagirwalabari- III village in Cooch Behar. He was moving on the border road with the intention to facilitate throwing of a headload containing contraband items over border fencing and was trying to escape when intercepted. He was handed over to the police for further legal action.

One Bangladeshi national was apprehended by BSF troops of BOP Durganagar in Cooch Behar district. He was identified as Muffazal (25 years),a resident of Ramkhana West in Kurigram district of Bangladesh. He was handed over to Sahebganj Police Station in Cooch Behar.

Besides, BSF troops of Guwahati Frontier seized 111 cattle heads having an approximate value of Rs 4,67,530 on the intervening night of August 28 and 29.
