The Virtual Showcase recently hosted by Education in Ireland, a part of the Government of Ireland responsible for promotion of higher educational institutions attracted substantial participants and a great interest in choosing Ireland for higher education. Following the demand for a more interactive and personal meeting with the academics from Irish institutions by Indian students, Education in Ireland/ Government of Ireland has announced a ‘Meet the Academics’ virtual event on Friday, 12 March from 4 PM to 7 PM IST.



The event is a ‘Live Q&A’ and includes live chat and video sessions with 16 of Ireland’s top higher education institutions and a number of key academics will be available to interact live with Indian students. Disciplines in science, computing, engineering, business and others will be covered.



On announcing ‘Meet the Academic’ virtual event Mr. Barry O’Driscoll, Regional Manager, India & South Asia for Education in Ireland, said, “At Education in Ireland, we look forward to guide students in best way possible to pursue their educational dreams while ensuring that each student is given personalized information and responses to their queries. Meet the Academic is one such initiative of Education in Ireland, keeping into consideration the panic caused by pandemic and students having to halt their aspirations. The purpose of the event is so interested students can get a deep insight into course content, learning outcomes, assessment models and career opportunities in Ireland.”



Additionally, admissions staff will also be on hand to answer questions on entry requirements and the applications process. Ireland also offers a two year stay back visa for India students who complete their postgraduate programme. And recently, some 3,000 Indian students travelled to Ireland to undertake their students, many of whom are keen to explore the subsequent career opportunities that Ireland offers.
