Spider Veins are thin, smaller, red, blue or purple blood vessels which in turn and twist. Spider veins occur when the valves inside the blood vessels stop working properly.
Veins carry blood back to the heart. To prevent the backward flow of blood one way valve closes when the blood passes through it. If the valve gets weakened or damaged then the blood flow may difficult to flow in correct direction and hence the blood start to pool inside the vein. Over a time period the blood start accumulating and bulgy, it causes the vein to form branches called as spider veins.
