Symbiosis Law School, Pune, a constituent of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) is proud to announce the 6th Edition of the Symbiosis Law School, Pune – International Criminal Trial Advocacy (SICTA) 2021 from 7th May -9th May, 2021. The past editions of SICTA have received overwhelming praise for the competence, research and advocacy skills reflected throughout the course of the rounds by the student community and highly favourable reviews have been given to the perseverance and skill showcased by the organizing college. In light of these factors as well as the path charted by the International Criminal Court, Symbiosis Law School, Pune is pleased to announce the theme for SICTA 2021 to be - “Prosecution Revolving around State and Judicial Apparatus as an Accessory towards Commission of International Crime(s)”. The proposition revolves around the procedural challenges faced by the International Criminal Court in interpreting treaties vis-à-vis international criminal law.



The Inaugural Ceremony of SICTA, 2021 will take place on 7th May, 2021 at 9:00 AM through the virtual platform ZOOM. The event will be graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Hon’able Justice J. Chelameswar, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India and Dr. Shashikala Gurpur, Fulbright Scholar, Dean, Faculty of Law, SI(DU), Director, Symbiosis Law School, Pune.



The preliminary rounds of the competition will be held on 8th May, 2021 with participation from 15 national and international teams, including the Kathmandu University, School of Law, Nepal. The semi-final and final rounds will be held on 9th May, 2021 adjudged by an esteemed and reputable judges panel including Mr. TR Subramanya, Dean, School of Legal Studies, CMR University and Justice RevatiMohiteDere, Judge, Bombay High Court & former Additional Public Prosecutor, Union of India, among others.



The Valedictory Ceremony will be held on 9th May, 2021 with declaration of the Winner & Runners Up teams, as well as Best Student Advocates, Best Memorial & Best Witness, with cash prizes worth over Rs. 1 lakh.
