Mitron TV, India’s leading homegrown short-format video application, has got on board one of the prominent personalities from the medical fraternity, President of Public Health Foundation of India, Prof. Dr K. Srinath Reddy as part of their #VirusToVaccine campaign. Dr Reddy will be a part of Mitron's #LiveSamvaad on the 24th of July, which features healthcare luminaries every Saturday at 7:00 PM.



Prof. Dr K. Srinath Reddy was appointed as the First Bernard Lown Visiting Professor of Cardiovascular Health at the Harvard School of Public Health in (2009-13) and presently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Epidemiology at Harvard (2014-2023). He holds advisory positions in several national and international bodies and recently published a book ‘Make Health in India: Reaching A Billion Plus’. Besides, Dr Reddy is the first Indian to be elected to the National Academy of Medicine, USA and was awarded several prestigious international and national doctorates and fellowships. He was President of the World Heart Federation (2013-15). The Padma Bhushan awardee is also an Advisor to the Governments of Odisha, Punjab, Haryana and Andhra Pradesh on Public Health. Additionally, he served as a physician to two Prime Ministers of India.



In the last two months, the short format video app has held several live sessions with prominent medical practitioners such as Dr Arvinder Singh Soin, Chairman, Medanta Liver Institute and Lead Investigator, Indian RCT on Tocilizumab in COVID, Prof. Dr J.A. Jayalal, National President, Indian Medical Association, Prof (Dr) Ashok Seth, President Asia Pacific society of International cardiology & Chairman of Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, Padma Shree Presidential Awardee Prof. Dr Sanjeev Bagai, Ayurveda Ratna Awardee Dr Pratap Chauhan & Orthopedic Specialist Dr Kaushal Kant amongst the others.



Through the #VirusToVaccine campaign Mitron aims to debunk vaccination myths and rumours about the virus while educating the citizens with accurate information. Considering new variants of the virus are coming into existence, millions of people are still unaware of things like the first step one should undertake when someone has flu, cold and cough, whether a person should get vaccinated after being tested positive, amongst others. Dr Srinath Reddy will also discuss how an individual should respond to the coming months and the expected ‘third wave’.
