With a surge in students wishing to pursue their dreams to study abroad, Education in Ireland hosted a Virtual Showcase for students to comfortably explore their study options in Ireland. As a Government of Ireland brand, Education in Ireland organizes this fair annually to encourage the study abroad dreams of aspiring students.

At this event, participants interacted on a one-on-one basis through video and chat with education institutions to explore suitable courses in Business, Science, Engineering, Arts, Media, Humanities, etc. Around 25% of the registered students attended the fair and were able to seamlessly engage in over 1500 chats with approximately 50 representatives from 18 higher education institutions, as well as several government and visa officials from the Embassy of Ireland. The informative seminars by industry experts on relevant topics such as education loans, visa application process, student accommodation, and post-study employment opportunities drew a large amount of interest from attendees.

Highlighting Ireland’s commitment for international students to pursue their study abroad dreams in Ireland, Mr. Barry O’Driscoll, Regional Manager, India & South Asia for Education in Ireland said, “We are elated that the youth want to explore academic options in their fields of interest and have chosen Ireland as one of the preferred destinations. At the Education in Ireland’s Virtual Showcase, we give students an opportunity to interact with representatives from world-class higher education institutions, along with government and visa officials. During the virtual fair, students from the farthest corners of South Asia (across India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal) benefitted from attending this authentic and interactive event.”

Interest was shown across diverse fields of study and for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Traditionally popular courses like Business, Medicine, Engineering and Cybersecurity witnessed a high demand as per the student enquiries, but so did some new-age courses like biomedicine, veterinary sciences, pharmaceuticals, sustainable engineering, car designing, animation and gaming. Attendees were also keen on exploring post-study opportunities in Ireland, in addition to the general spectrum of queries on admission and English test requirements, scholarships opportunities, and PhD fellowships.

“With the fastest growing economy in the European Union (EU), Ireland is a sound and reliable option for international students seeking to make a career abroad with an employability rate as high as 80-96%. Besides, Ireland is the only majority English speaking country in the EU and offers a cost-effective study opportunity with world-class education standards. Consequently, when Indian students secure their desired jobs in Ireland, they experience a return in investment and the satisfaction of having invested in quality education.” added Mr. Driscoll.
