In our day-to-day activities we need certain information based on prevalent legal system in order to carry out our various responsibilities. Keeping this in mind, Amity Law School, AUH in association with District Legal Services Authority, Gurugram organized a One Day Workshop on the theme “Law in Daily Life”. The aim of the Workshop was to equip the University Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff with the understanding of various aspects of law applied in our daily life like filing an F.I.R. or getting your AADHAR made and Online Frauds.



The Workshop was divided into 8 sub themes, i.e. “FIR” by Dr. Atul Jain, “Every Day Documentation & Online Frauds” by Dr. Monica Yadav, “WILL” by Dr. Shiv Raman, “Succession & Nomination” by Ms. Toshi Rattan, “Right to Information” by Ms. Nidhi Sharma, “Basics of Consumer Protection Law” by Ms. SanjumBedi, “Child Rights” by Dr. Sugato Mukherjee and “Application of Fundamental Rights” by Mr. Pranshul Pathak. The Coordinators for the Workshop were Dr SK Tripathi, Dr MinakshiSoni and Prayag Dev Sehrawat, a student.

In her Inaugural Address, Chief Guest, Ms Lalita Patwardhan, Chief Judicial Magistrate & Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Gurugram while praising the organizers for selecting very relevant topics, said that the need is to treat Law as a part of daily life and not merely as a separate subject. She said that Covid has brought out tremendous changes in our lifestyle and we need to soon adapt to that and even the Law will have to change accordingly.



While delivering his Vote of Thanks, Maj Gen PK Sharma (Retd), Director, ALS said that law is a set of rules that governs a society but unfortunately there is a large section of our society that is unaware of these very basic rules and generally find themselves at a loss on issues arising in their day to day life. He hoped that this Workshop will help the participants in clearing their doubts and help them in resolving the day to day issues that they may encounter.



Maj Gen GS Bal (Retd), DSW, Sqn Ldr SK Singh (Retd), Director Administration, Prof. U.N. Singh, Dean Faculty of Arts, Mr Ankur Gupta, Deputy Director CRC were also present along with 100 Faculty and Staff Members.
