Noida: The 8th Global Fashion and Design Week Noida 2024 continued its journey of excellence with the spectacular fifth show on the second day, showcasing an impressive array of garments inspired by diverse cultures from around the world.



The event, a testament to the global reach and influence of fashion, was graced by esteemed dignitaries including H.E. Ali Achoui, Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Alfredo Caldera, Counsellor, Embassy of Venezuela, and Marat Melikyan, Counsellor, Embassy of Armenia, who were the guests of honour for this international celebration.



Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and Festival, opened the session with insightful remarks, emphasizing that fashion is an integral part of daily life. “It is not necessary to wear expensive clothes, but it is essential to wear clothes that suit you and make you visible in the crowd,” he stated, setting the tone for an evening of cultural elegance and sartorial innovation.



The showcase featured an eclectic mix of garments, each drawing inspiration from the rich traditions and heritage of different nations: Algeria: Tanya Gupta presented garments influenced by Algerian culture. Kazakhstan: The cultural essence of Kazakhstan was captured by designers Adhiraj Singh Chandel, Aashna, and Nandani.



Venezuela: Rajan and Rohit brought the vibrancy of Venezuela to the stage. Burkina Faso: For the first time, Priyanshi Kumar highlighted the cultural motifs of Burkina Faso. Iceland: Deepak Kumar’s designs reflected the unique charm of Iceland. Guyana: The beauty of Guyana was showcased by Samarika, Shivangi, and Dhrasti.



Egypt: Kalash presented designs inspired by the rich history of Egypt.



Adding to the grandeur of the event, a special session saw the launch of a Coffee Table Book titled “Solah Shringhar,” designed by Gunjan Baliyan, a student of fashion communication. This book celebrates the traditional adornments and intricate beauty practices of Indian women, offering a deep dive into cultural aesthetics.



H.E. Ali Achoui, Alfredo Caldera, and Marat Melikyan expressed their admiration for the event, highlighting its significance as a platform for cultural exchange and creative expression. They praised the young designers for their ability to seamlessly blend traditional influences with contemporary fashion, creating pieces that were both innovative and respectful of their cultural origins.



The fifth show of the 8th Global Fashion and Design Week Noida 2024 was a resounding success, attracting a full house of fashion enthusiasts and industry experts. The event not only showcased the talents of budding designers but also underscored the importance of fashion as a global language that transcends borders and unites cultures.
